I was inexperienced in the ways of love, having saved myself for my husband on our wedding night, but the jerk cheated on me on our honeymoon and it looked like I’d have to wait a little longer to feel the touch of a man… but Wolf Falls has a secret.
A beast stalks the honeymoon resort – part man, part wolf – and he likes women just like me; women who have never experienced the touch of another man. But that’s just a legend, right?
Before the night was over, I’d learn the legend was only partially true because there wasn’t just one creature craving the touch of a woman, but two.
This is an erotic paranormal story. It contains strong language and is intended for mature readers.
EXCERPT:
I looked at the wedding ring on my hand, the way the sunlight reflected off the diamonds, making them sparkle. The shine would last a lot longer on the ring than it did my marriage. Hell, a wet frog would be shinier than my marriage... which lasted approximately twenty-four hours.
Actually, it would last a little longer than that since we were still legally married, but officially? Officially, the marriage was dead in the water.
The day had started perfectly, with me and my mom and my friends getting together and getting ready. Everything and everyone was ready when the clock struck twelve. It was Pete’s idea to get married at high noon; something about starting our new life with the sun shining its light on us from its highest point. Idiot.
Of course I didn’t think Pete was an idiot at the time. I still thought he was sweet and romantic and just the most perfect man in the whole wide world. The type of man that made me glad I had remained a virgin until my wedding night. It was a special gift and I had held on to it for twenty years, waiting for that special man to give it to.
After the wedding ceremony and small reception, we climbed into Pete’s shiny Jaguar with the ‘Just Married’ sign on the back and took off for Wolf Falls, the honeymoon capital of the Lone Star State, where more than one blushing bride and her new husband had enjoyed sex as man and wife for the first time with the roar of the waterfall known as Wolf Falls in the air.
Wolf Falls Resort was a luxury hotel built around a natural waterfall, incorporating nature into the design, complete with a lake and wooded area around the hotel. Pete had reserved the Honeymoon Suite at the hotel. It was an incredible place. It had a spa, an Olympic-size swimming pool, and one of Pete’s ex-girlfriend’s working as a lifeguard.
I learned about that last little bit while I was swimming underwater, intent on pulling Pete under and surprising him. Instead, I was the one surprised when I got close enough to see the lifeguard’s hand in his bathing suit, pulling on his cock. I still remembered the look on Pete’s face when I erupted out of the water like some creature from a horror movie.
“What the hell is going on?” I had demanded, glaring at both of them, my wet hair plastered to my head, rivulets of water running down my face. Definitely not my sexiest look.
“Stacy!” Pete had shouted, his face turning pale. After a few seconds of underwater fumbling, he moved away from the big-boobed blonde in the bikini. “This is Jane. She’s an... old friend of mine.”
“A very good friend if her hand on your dick is her way of saying hello.”
“Just wait until you find out how I say it’s nice to see him,” the blonde said, giving me a smile and a wink.
I lunged at the girl but Pete got between us. “Stacy,” he said, “I can ex –”
I slapped him as hard as I could. “You cheating bastard,” I yelled. “What kind of lowlife cheats on his wife on their honeymoon?”
Wolf Falls is a primo honeymoon spot, so of course these kinds of scenes were not appreciated by management... or security. It didn’t take long for a couple of polo-shirt-wearing ‘convenience officers’ to arrive on the scene.
After hearing my story, the two men conveniently sent my future ex-husband on his way, and after a brief stop in the manager’s office, the lifeguard was conveniently fired and escorted off the premises. I was even allowed to stay in the Honeymoon Suite for the night free of charge since I no longer had transportation.
Which is how I ended up sitting by the pool in a skimpy bikini, chatting with two hunky ‘convenience officers’ while studying my wedding ring in the sunlight. “What kind of title is convenience officer, anyway?” I asked Brad, one of the two hunks assigned to make sure the distraught bride didn’t do anything foolish.
Brad smiled his country-boy smile, leaning back in his chair. “We’re all about convenience. It’s our job to make sure our guests are happy, and we’ll do anything to make sure they enjoy their stay.”
“And we do mean anything,” added Troy – the other security hunk – with a wink and a devilish grin that could make a girl have all kinds of naughty thoughts.
I let my eyes roam over Troy and Brad’s bulging biceps and broad chests, outlined so clearly by the tight shirts they were wearing. I wondered briefly if the Honeymoon Suite might still see a little action after all. I’m sure it was just the complimentary margaritas talking but saving yourself for one special guy was turning out to be highly overrated.
“Hey,” Brad said, leaning forward and placing his hand on my thigh, “We’ve got a few things to take care of but we can stop by later and see how you’re doing.”
“If you don’t mind,” Troy added, leaning forward and placing his hand on my other thigh.
I looked at the two very large, very strong hands resting just inches away from my bikini bottom, feeling a pleasurable tingle between my thighs.
Spending too much time with these two guys would be dangerous. The alcohol was doing its job, leaving my inhibitions with a healthy I-Don’t-Give-A-Fuck attitude, but I’d regret it in the morning. I patted Brad and Troy’s hands. “I appreciate the offer but I’m probably just going to go to bed early after getting good and wasted.”
The two men exchanged a look with each other before glancing back at me.
Brad nodded. “We understand.”
The men stood up, took a couple of steps away, and looked back.
“If you change your mind about going to bed early, at least stay in the hotel after the sun goes down,” Brad said. “It can be dangerous near the waterfall after dark.”
I nodded. “Rushing water and slippery rocks? Not a night-time adventure I’m eager to have.”
Troy chuckled, and then looked around, as if to make sure nobody else was close enough to overhear him. “Oh, it’s not the Falls that are the danger. It’s the Beast.”
The two men grinned at me, mischief sparkling in their eyes, and then turned and walked away.
Seriously? Who drops a bombshell like that and just walks away? Forgetting about drinking more margaritas – for the moment anyway – I went up to my room and dug my tablet out of a suitcase. I didn’t know exactly what to search for so I tried ‘Beast of Wolf Falls.’ Surprisingly, something popped up. I guess Pete decided this wasn’t important information when he was researching the place... or maybe bumping into his old girlfriend wasn’t as coincidental as he made it out to be.
According to various articles, the beast of Wolf Falls lived in a cavern behind the waterfall itself. Police, and even the FBI, had examined the cavern but had never seen any evidence of anyone – neither man nor beast – living there. According to the urban legends, the beast was part man and part wolf, constantly on the prowl for virgin women to take and have his way with.
The last reported sighting had just occurred last year, when a hungover groom woke up and discovered his new bride missing. She was found shortly after sunrise, saying she had been abducted by a giant wolf that walked like a man. Again, the police found nothing.
I walked out on the balcony and looked across the lake towards the waterfall. It wasn’t as impressive as Niagara Falls but it was pretty. Scenic. I could easily imagine me and Pete taking a selfie from this spot. The happy couple with the scenic waterfall in the background. Ugh!
My new marriage was already over and I was staying in the Honeymoon Suite by myself. Why not tempt fate a little bit more? It was a stupid idea. Totally insane. I couldn’t have stopped grinning if I tried. I changed out of my bikini and put on khaki shorts and a short button-up shirt that exposed my belly, along with my tennis shoes.
An hour later, I looked up towards the setting sun. There was a jogging path, lights, and various picnic areas throughout the surrounding foliage but the waterfall was a lot further than it looked. Probably another thirty minutes to get there. It would be dark before I reached it.
The bushes off to my right rustled, startling me. “Hello,” I called out. “Is anybody there?” Probably just a squirrel.
I continued down the path, admiring the waterfall whenever it peeked through a gap in the trees. It looked even more impressive as I slowly worked my way closer to it.
A branch over my head swayed and lowered as something large landed on it. I ducked instinctively, raising my arm to shield myself. A shadowy figure – a large shadowy figure – leapt from the overhead branch to another, and then another. I peered into the darkness, my heart beating a mile a minute in my chest. “Hello?” I called again, my voice shaking. A low growl came from one of the trees up ahead.
Slowly, I began to turn around, and then something large and fast jumped from the tree, landing just a few feet from me. I screamed and ran as fast as I could. The low growl became a loud, angry-sounding howl, and I could hear padded feet on the ground behind me. I wanted to turn around but I knew I would probably die if I did. I couldn’t slow down.
I could hear the beast behind me, its breathing getting closer. An arm shot around me, grabbing me and crushing me against something hard – its chest. The creature tossed me over its shoulder and started to run towards the waterfall, traveling faster on foot than I would have thought possible.
I hammered my fists into the creature’s broad back but the beast didn’t seem affected by my attack. Its shaggy hair was getting in my face and I reached up and pulled it as hard as I could. The creature growled and tightened its grip on my back. Sharp claws pricked my back and I froze. The monster’s threat was clear. It could do a lot more damage to me than I could do to it.
The woods passed by in a blur as my kidnapper ran down the darkening path. The roar of the waterfall was getting louder. Was this thing taking me to the cave behind the waterfall? Was this the wolf beast I had read about?
Suddenly, we veered off the path, my abductor charging through the trees as if they weren’t there. The man – the wolf? – changed direction again and I could see the lake off to one side. I felt his muscles tense beneath me and then we were flying through the air. I gasped as a wall of ice-cold water crashed over me, and then we stopped.
The creature put me on my feet and I quickly backed away from it, turning to run, only to stop dead in my tracks when I saw a second beast.
We were in a cavern lit by torches on the wall. Behind the new wolf creature, a rock ledge covered with animal pelts extended out from the back wall. The opening at the front – the opening blocked by the endless wall of water from Wolf Falls – was the only way in or out.
The creature blocking the exit growled and I looked at it, trying to control my ragged breathing, my racing heart. I was trapped with these things, and they were huge. The monsters towered over me and had to be at least as broad as two men standing side by side.
But it wasn’t just the size of the creatures that was intimidating. They really were wolves, and not a couple of jokers wearing costumes, which was what I first thought when I read the reports.
Grey and brown hair covered their bodies. Amber eyes stared at me from fur-covered faces, and then the beast between me and the exit seemed to smile, revealing a row of razor-sharp teeth.
It took a step towards me. I stepped back and it growled, its mouth curling into an angry snarl. It took another step, reaching out for me. My trembling legs shook so bad they could barely support my weight and a whimper escaped my lips as the wolf behind me came closer, pressing his furry chest against my back.
The wolfman in front of me flicked his wrist, shredding the front of my shirt with his claws. He looked down at my exposed breasts and licked his lips.
Slowly, the giant wolf’s features began to shift. I blinked my eyes, sure I was seeing things in the flickering torchlight. The fur that covered him from head to toe seemed to be melting into his skin.
He was also shrinking, in both height and width, his size dwindling until he was the height of a normal man. The last thing to change was the eyes, which became brown when the amber light left them. I gasped when I realized I recognized the man.
